Writing is most definitely one of my passions. I've been
writing since as long as I can remember for school assignments
(I was one of those odd children that liked school and
homework assignments when they were fun). However, I didn't
start writing completely for myself (read as not-for-a-grade)
until I was a senior in high school. That's when I started
my first novel, working title The Crystibal. It
is a classic fantasy-genre story at about 100,000 words
right now (think 400 pages). I'm going to give it one
more draft before declaring it as complete as I can make
it. It's supposed to be book one in a duology, or possibly
a trilogy.
I had the opportunity in April 2001 to go to a workshop
lead by Terry
Brooks. He was kind enough to punch holes in my Crystibal
story and writing. I think it will make me a stronger,
better writer. It was quite a thrill to meet one of my
favorite authors. He was a great person, and a very good
teacher. The workshop was wonderful.

In addition to my first novel, I have also
written a romance novel, Bohemian Crystal. It's
set in the Czech Republic and is based loosely (very loosely)
and a trip I took there several years ago. The music and
the scenery are about all that's real. The rest is pure
romantic fiction. I'm also involved with a new game company,
Digital
Tome. They are the first to deliver episodic games.
I had the great opportunity to write some of the backstory,
as well as dialogue, environmental fillers (like book
contents and such), and do some map level directions.
Their first offering, Siege
of Avalon, is a classic fantasy-roleplaying game.
By the way, working with a gaming company is just as much
fun as it sounds.
I've decided to put up a few excerpts and
sample pieces in my writing section. I guess it's not
worth writing if you're not willing to share. I hope some
day to see my work published in the hard-copy world, but
for now, I hope at least someone might get some enjoyment
from my efforts.
