Well, actually, the performances are already completed.
But this website is intended to recapture the fun and excitement
that is the play Macbeth. Okay, little sarcasm there. "Fun"
is not exactly a word used to describe Macbeth in general
conversation.
The story of a power-hungry Scottish lord who stops
at nothing and no one to seize the crown is not your normal family-friendly
fare. But it is exciting! There are sword fights, murder, sex,
intrigue, more murders, (did I mention sex?), and that wild and
crazy Shakespeare-speak that everyone is raving about! Doesn't
everyone go around saying "My young remembrance cannot parallel
a fellow to it" on a daily basis!? It doesn't get any better
than this, folks.
Seriously though, this production of Macbeth
does mark a milestone for the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Even though the Downtown Campus has a beautiful theater complex
that has been open for a while now, this is the first university
supported theatrical production ever done at UTSA. Talk about
one for the history books!
On these wonderfully designed pages if I do say
so myself (and I always do), you'll find a slew of photos from
various nights of the performances. You'll also find music, excerpts
from the script, and maybe even some unexpected things. (Probably
not, but I want you to stay around and see the rest of the site!)
Use the navigation at the top of the page to view other areas.
Foremost, have fun!
